Hi everyone, and welcome to my retrospective of Densetsu no Stafy, known internationally as The Legendary Starfy.
There are several reasons why I’m doing this.
Usually, when people make a retrospective about something, they go in chronological order. However, I will be doing it a little differently. I will cover the fifth game, Densetsu no Stafy: Taiketsu! Daīru Kaizokudan, first. The reason for this is because when I recall hating it when I first played it in 2016, it’s vastly different from the other games, and it is the only game in the series to be released internationally, as simply The Legendary Starfy.
I wish I didn’t have to cover it, but it has a lot of important story behind its development, and I may refer to the game in other entries of the retrospective, so I might as well get it done with first. Oh yeah, another reason why I’m not doing it last is because that would be a very bitter and unhappy ending to the retrospective, and this is meant to celebrate the series, not be a rant about it.
Don’t worry, after I’m finished with the fifth game, this retrospective will truly start.
One last thing. I’ll be playing all games up to the point of the first credits sequence. These games (at least the first four) tend to have a lot of post-game content. I cannot guarantee I’ll 100% complete them, but I’ll sure try!
That’s all. The entry on the fifth game will be posted whenever I’m finished with it. That might be a long while. Sorry.
